Bonding few-layered graphene via collision with high-speed fullerenes

Two-dimensional materials are popular in design of nanodevices. To improve bending stiffness few-layered graphene ribbon, the relative sliding between neighboring layers should be avoided by method such as bonding them together. In this study, new bonds ribbon formed ballistic C60 fullerenes from both surfaces ribbon. Collision effects evaluated through molecular dynamics simulations. The formation two dimensional carbon material is demonstrated breakage and generation atoms and/or fullerenes. Note that incident velocity had an interval, which will break further connected covalent at impact area.
